MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Applicants must have:
- Grade 12 / Matric
- At least 6 months’ cashier or till operation experience
- Basic computer literacy, including MS Office
- Good numerical skills
- Strong command of English
- Basic customer-service skills
- Ability to work retail hours
- South African citizenship
- Clear criminal and credit records
- Reliable transport or residence close to the store
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The successful candidates will:
- Operate the till and process customer transactions
- Receive cash, card, voucher and other approved payments
- Provide professional and friendly customer service
- Process refunds and exchanges when authorised
- Assist customers with merchandise queries
- Promote current sales and promotions
- Process loyalty cards and rewards
- Handle cash securely and accurately
- Maintain accurate cash-flow procedures
- Report customer complaints and compliments
- Identify and report suspicious activity
- Follow Dis-Chem’s security policies and procedures
