MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Applicants must have:
- Grade 12 / Matric or equivalent qualification
- 3–5 years of relevant driving experience
- Valid Code 14 (EC) driver’s licence
- Valid PDP
- Good written and verbal English communication skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Good time-management and navigation skills
- Customer-service skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
Previous experience within the FMCG retail industry is preferred.
KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
The successful candidate will:
- Safely operate the assigned delivery truck.
- Conduct vehicle checks to ensure roadworthiness.
- Deliver goods accurately and on time.
- Maintain accurate mileage and fuel-consumption records.
- Keep delivery receipts and other required documentation.
- Record and report accidents or incidents.
- Communicate professionally with customers and warehouse staff.
- Report mechanical problems and maintenance requirements.
- Follow vehicle maintenance and repair procedures.
- Comply with traffic laws and company safety requirements.
- Keep the assigned truck clean and organised.
- Ensure required delivery documents are readily available.
- Use appropriate PPE when performing duties.
- Maintain safe working practices.
- Provide professional customer service.
- Attend required meetings, coaching and training.
- Support the team in achieving operational targets.
