MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Applicants must have:
- Grade 12 / Matric
- Valid car driver’s licence
- Valid motorbike licence
- Willingness and ability to work retail hours and/or shifts
- Strong command of English
- Good time-management skills
- Professional and presentable appearance
- Honest and trustworthy character
- Ability to communicate effectively with customers and staff
Previous experience in a similar driving or delivery position will be an advantage.
SPECIAL CONDITIONS
Candidates must:
- Be willing to work outdoors in different weather conditions.
- Be physically fit and able to lift and move heavy boxes.
- Have reliable transport and/or live close to the store.
- Be a South African citizen.
- Have clear credit and criminal records.
- Follow all relevant road traffic and health and safety requirements.
KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
The successful candidate will:
- Deliver products safely and on time.
- Ensure the correct orders reach the correct customers.
- Prioritise refrigerated deliveries and use appropriate cooler boxes and cold packs.
- Select efficient delivery routes.
- Follow delivery and collection instructions.
- Handle fragile products with appropriate care.
- Complete store returns, collections and inter-branch deliveries.
- Ensure delivery paperwork is correctly signed.
- Maintain accurate delivery records and invoices.
- Complete and maintain the vehicle logbook.
- Process applicable EFT and cash payments.
- Keep the delivery vehicle clean.
- Inspect the vehicle before, during and after trips.
- Report vehicle defects, accidents and incidents.
- Follow the company’s vehicle policies.
- Comply with road traffic laws.
- Provide professional and courteous customer service.
- Report customer complaints, requests and compliments to management.
