MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Applicants must have:
- Grade 12 / Matric
- At least 6 months’ cashier/till operations experience
- Computer literacy, including MS Office
- Good numerical skills
- Strong command of English
- Basic customer-service skills
- Ability and willingness to work retail hours
- Reliable transport and/or live close to the store
- South African citizenship
- Clear credit and criminal records
KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Successful candidates may be required to:
- Operate the till and process customer transactions.
- Receive cash, card, voucher, coupon and other approved payments.
- Process sales, refunds and authorised returns.
- Process loyalty cards.
- Maintain accurate cash handling and cash flow.
- Keep money secure inside the till.
- Follow procedures for cash drops.
- Ensure outgoing products are correctly scanned and paid for.
- Obtain supervisor approval for price changes and line voids.
- Assist customers with merchandise queries.
- Maintain professional customer service.
- Report customer complaints and compliments.
- Stay informed about current promotions and sales.
- Identify and report suspicious behaviour.
- Follow store security policies and procedures.
- Protect confidential information relating to daily takings.
