PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS
Applicants should preferably have:
- High school diploma / Grade 12 or equivalent
- At least 1 year of related work experience
- No supervisory experience required
- No specific licence or certification required
- Good communication and customer-service skills
- Professional and presentable appearance
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Ability to follow workplace health, safety and security procedures
KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
The successful candidate will:
- Prepare and serve drink orders according to specified recipes.
- Serve wine and other beverages.
- Set up and maintain the bar and service areas.
- Keep tables, equipment and work areas clean and organised.
- Prepare garnishes for beverages.
- Restock ice, glassware and other supplies.
- Wash and remove used glassware.
- Monitor stock and communicate replenishment requirements.
- Process customer payments.
- Complete required cashier procedures and reports.
- Perform end-of-shift cash procedures.
- Secure beverages and storage areas.
- Complete opening and closing duties.
- Welcome and acknowledge guests professionally.
- Anticipate and respond to guests’ service needs.
- Maintain positive relationships with colleagues.
- Follow quality, safety and security standards.
- Perform other reasonable duties assigned by supervisors.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
The position may require employees to:
- Stand, sit or walk for extended periods.
- Move and carry items weighing up to approximately 23 kg (50 lb).
- Bend, reach, twist and perform other movements required during service.
- Work around stairs, ramps and confined or uneven areas.
