MINIMUM EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION
• Basic reading and writing skills.
EXPERIENCE
• Appropriate experience in waste management, elementary stock control and cleaning within a hospital environment.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Effectively execute terminal cleaning in isolated areas, ICU and other designated areas.
• Assist the supervisor with general housekeeping duties.
• Control cleaning and household equipment.
• Assist with the care and control of linen.
• Assist with waste management.
• Ensure cleaning equipment is clean after use and securely stored.
• Use cleaning agents effectively and safely.
• Perform elementary stock control.
• Perform general cleaning duties, including sweeping, dusting, mopping, scrubbing and polishing.
• Perform deep cleaning of toilets.
• Manage waste appropriately.
• Maintain general neatness and hygiene in the designated area.
INHERENT REQUIREMENTS
• Must be willing to work shifts.
• Must be willing to rotate between different departments.
• Must be able to perform physically demanding cleaning tasks.
• Must be able to operate heavy-duty cleaning and household equipment.
COMPETENCIES, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
• Extensive knowledge of routine cleaning processes.
• Knowledge of terminal cleaning procedures.
• Knowledge of handling cleaning equipment.
• Ability to perform physical tasks.
• Ability to operate heavy-duty cleaning and household equipment.
