REQUIREMENTS

• NQF Level 1 or 2 Certificate or relevant qualification.
• N6 or Diploma in Hospitality & Catering Services will be an added advantage.
• Two years’ experience in a food preparation and serving environment will be an added advantage.
• Three years’ experience working as a cleaner will be an added advantage.
• Ability to work under pressure.
• Basic knowledge of keeping kitchen utensils clean and safe.
• Knowledge of sanitation, health and safety procedures.
• Knowledge of hygiene standards.
• Knowledge of inventory procedures and techniques.
• Knowledge of food preparation techniques.
• Knowledge of dishing out food.
• Basic knowledge of quality management.
• Willingness to work shifts and overtime.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Clean kitchen utensils and equipment.
• Provide catering support services.
• Maintain stock of kitchen utensils and equipment.
• Apply hygiene and safety measures.
• Maintain quality control measures for all food provided.
• Remove and dispose of garbage.
• Prepare food, snacks and beverages, including water, tea, coffee, sugar and cold drinks.
• Set up and transport crockery, cutlery and equipment to dining areas.
• Serve food and beverages.
• Monitor food supplies and report waste and losses.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
