REQUIREMENTS
• Minimum requirement: ABET or Grade 10
• Hospital environment experience
• Laundry experience will be advantageous
• Understanding of a laundry setup
• Good communication skills
• Ability to work shifts, especially night shifts when required
• Ability to rotate in all areas of the laundry
• Honest and reliable
• Physically strong enough to cope with the demands of the position
• Ability to work as part of a team and/or independently
DUTIES
• Clean the laundry area and laundry machines
• Operate various machines in the laundry, including washing machines, dryers, ironing machines and pressers
• Iron, fold, count and pack laundered items and seal linen bags
• Collect and deliver linen to clients, except Edenvale Hospital
• Sort, count and record dirty linen
• Perform all laundry responsibilities as directed by the supervisor
• Report any machine faults to the supervisor
• Perform any other laundry duties as directed by the supervisor

• Each Z83 application form must be fully completed, initialled, signed and dated by the applicant

• Sections A, B, C and D must be completed in full
• In Sections E, F and G, applicants may indicate “refer to CV” or “see attached” where the CV provides the required information
• All experience on the CV must be listed chronologically, showing the employer, position and employment period
• Starting and ending dates should be indicated in DD/MM/YYYY format
• The CV must include the names of all schools/institutions attended
• Information on the new Z83 must correspond with the information on the CV
• Provide at least 3 contactable references, including at least one immediate supervisor
• The Department reserves the right to conduct additional reference verification where necessary
• The question relating to conditions that prevent re-appointment under Part F must be answered
• The specific reference number must be quoted correctly
