JOB PURPOSE
The successful candidate will be responsible for accurately picking customer orders, packing products according to company standards, and supporting warehouse operations while maintaining high health and safety standards.
REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications
• Grade 12 or equivalent.
Experience
• Minimum of 1 year experience in a similar position.
Knowledge
• Ability to perform basic numerical calculations.
• Good understanding of warehouse operations and processes.
• Knowledge of ISO standards relevant to warehouse operations.
Skills
• Accurate picking and packing of products.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet productivity targets.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Good organisational and time management skills.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Picking
• Pick stock accurately according to picking slips.
• Verify that the correct products and quantities are picked.
• Complete picking slips accurately with all required information.
• Report any discrepancies, shortages or product differences.
Packing
• Pack products correctly according to company procedures.
• Wrap products securely to prevent damage during transport.
• Prepare products for dispatch and shipment.
• Load products according to company specifications.
Warehouse Support
• Keep stock correctly stored and organised.
• Maintain proper stacking and storage standards.
• Load and unload products from vehicles and containers.
• Assist with receiving stock.
• Assist drivers with loading and offloading at customer sites.
• Conduct stock counts.
• Maintain a clean, neat and organised warehouse by sweeping floors, dusting surfaces and removing debris.
• Assist in other warehouse duties when required.
• Drive company vehicles when required (if in possession of a valid driver’s licence).
Health, Safety & Compliance
• Comply with the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHS Act).
• Follow all company health and safety procedures.
• Wear the required PPE at all times.
• Report unsafe conditions and incidents immediately.
• Maintain excellent housekeeping standards.
• Participate in SHEQ and Integrated Management System activities.
• Follow all company policies and procedures.
• Deliver excellent customer service at all times.
