Dis-Chem Pharmacies is looking for a Merchandiser to ensure that merchandising standards are properly executed and maintained while providing excellent customer service.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Essential:
- Grade 12 / Matric.
- Up to 6 months’ retail experience.
- Computer literate – MS Office.
- Willing and able to work retail hours.
Advantageous:
- At least 1 year of retail experience.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Restock merchandise to maximise sales.
- Receive, store and pack stock in the correct spaces.
- Check stock for expired or near-expiry products.
- Ensure the full product range is available on shelves.
- Rotate stock using the FIFO principle.
- Report low stock, out-of-stock, damaged and expired stock.
- Assist with stock counts and stocktaking.
- Follow store layouts and planograms.
- Ensure shelves and products are neatly presented with correct pricing.
- Report price discrepancies.
- Build and maintain merchandising displays.
- Assist with loading and offloading stock.
- Assist with back shopping and stock queries.
- Provide friendly and helpful customer service.
- Follow up on customer out-of-stock queries.
- Assist in training new staff.
- Minimise losses by handling merchandise carefully.
- Adhere to company policies, SOPs and health and safety regulations.

- Knowledge of merchandising standards and the FMCG industry.
- Product and category knowledge.
- Ability to analyse ZMORE reports.
- Ability to identify and report suspicious behaviour.
