About the Role

The Desmond Tutu Health Foundation (DTHF) is seeking two Drivers to support the REACH Programme, which focuses on expanding access to HIV prevention services through mobile clinics in underserved communities.

The successful candidates will be responsible for the safe transportation and operation of mobile clinic units, equipment maintenance, technical support, and assisting with client registration systems.

Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 12 Certificate.
  • Valid Code 14 Driver’s Licence with PDP.
  • 1–2 years’ experience as a truck driver.
  • Dangerous Goods Certificate.
  • Experience managing routine maintenance on small to medium commercial vehicles.
  • Proven client service orientation.
  • Ability to maintain strict client confidentiality.
  • MS Office proficiency.
  • Ability to work effectively within a team.
  • No traffic violations or offences.
  • Strong commitment to safety.
  • Good time management and organisational skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Willingness to travel and work irregular hours, including weekends.

Added Advantages

  • Experience working in community-based or mobile health services.
  • Experience with biometric systems or digital data capture.
  • Good Clinical Practice (GCP) Certificate.

Key Responsibilities

  • Safely operate and transport mobile clinic vehicles to community service sites.
  • Manage arrival, set-up, pack-down and departure procedures.
  • Support the daily operation of mobile clinic services.
  • Assist with client registration and biometric systems.
  • Maintain mobile clinic equipment and ensure operational readiness.
  • Conduct routine vehicle inspections and coordinate servicing.
  • Ensure generators and related equipment are maintained and functional.
  • Assist with data capturing, filing and administrative duties.
  • Work closely with clinical and outreach teams.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, operational and confidentiality requirements.
