We are offering an exciting opportunity for the position of Code 14 Truck Drivers. In this position you will play a crucial role to support our vision of becoming a Great place to work for all.
ROLE OUTLINE
To ensure efficient and correct delivery of goods in a timeous and professional manner, according to operational procedures and standards. Control and manage the delivery process. Ensuring customer service is of the highest standard and that losses to the company are kept to a minimum. To always maintain the integrity of the Company.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
• Vehicle and equipment care; to ensure vehicle/equipment are kept in a good running order.
• Maintain an excellent customer service to internal and external customers.
• Ensure correct use of vehicle and other company equipment and to timeously report any defects.
• To report and record any non-conformity with regards to customer merchandise.
• Maintain high levels of hygiene of the vehicle.
• To work within operating areas as determined by management and the needs of the business.
• Follow standard operating procedures and safe working practices as per Driver Manual.
• To ensure that all documentation is accounted for and completed as per instruction.
• Maintain co-operation with Operations Department to ensure correct inventory on vehicle for delivery.
• Execute delivery of all goods as per the load manifest.
• Execute a daily vehicle inspection, using a checklist.
• Ensure vehicle is driven in a safe and courteous manner.
• Complete manifest documentation, correctly, accurately and timeously.
• Report discrepancies to Manager/Supervisor.
• Report to Operations for loading timeously.
• Count and compare the number of parcels per customer and match it to the manifest document / invoice.
• Load deliveries in sequence of off-loading.
• Sign manifest document acknowledging and accepting accountability for parcels.
• Follow customer delivery sequence, record time of arrival and departure on Trip sheet.
• Ensure customer signs for correct goods.
• Conduct all communication in a polite professional manner which promotes respect, goodwill and trust.
• Wear Company uniform with pride ensuring they are clean and presentable.
• Attend de-briefing on return from the trip.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
• Matric
• Valid Code 14 and valid PDP/ working knowledge of K53 (no endorsements)
