Requirements: Grade 10-12 or equivalent. Must have a Grade C qualification certificate and be registered with PSIRA (must be valid). Grades A and B will be an added advantage. Must have a minimum of 3 years of proven experience in security. At least 1–2 years of relevant security experience in a hospital setting will serve as an added advantage. Competencies: Knowledge of the Access to public premises and vehicles Act No. 53 of 1985 Sec 42 of Act 51 of 1997, PSIRA Act 56 of 2001, Access control procedure, Trespass Act; Skills in dealing with the public; Ability to communicate well with people at different levels and from different background, High level of reliability; Ability to handle confidential information; Sound, verbal, and written communication skills; Must be able to work under pressure, work shifts which include weekends, night and day shift and public holidays; Must not have a criminal record. A valid driver’s license will be an added advantage take initiative and work independently and with a team; Self-motivated; Understand Minimum Information Security Standards (MISS). Must be prepared to work shifts and under pressure. Must be able to read and interpret CCTV surveillance data in an efficient manner and in compliance with operating procedures, legislation, and best practice. Records all events, incidents, and actions taken in a clear, legible, and accurate written format; Complying with the security dress code always; Be willing to undergo continuous training and development Programme; Computer literacy will be an advantage. Attend meetings as approved by the supervisor. Successful candidates will be required to undergo medical surveillance.

Duties: Safeguarding the hospital’s assets, vehicles, employees, patients, contractors, visitors, and the surroundings 24 hours a. Write statements and incident reports and submit them to the supervisor ASAP. Conduct hourly patrol; Control traffic on-premises, provide direction to staff, visitors, and contractors; Patrol inside the hospital, and parking areas and control the movement of patients and visitors. Render escort services to staff members, visitors, and patients when the need arises. Report and investigate all incidents/breaches in the Occurrences Book. Enforcement of departmental policies. Reasonably, assist nursing staff with patients if required. the successful candidate will: Monitor security services on regular basis. Make sure that any other business entities accessing the hospital facility undergo security screening. Conducting internal security risks audit with the service provider and submitting the report to the management. Ensure all security breaches are reported to the security service provider, SAPS, and Risk management office within a period of 24 hours. All security cases are followed up with the security services provider, SAPS and all cases are closed. All security checklists/ registers are in place, daily updated, and incidents are recorded in the occurrence book (OB Book) immediately.
