Requirements: Grade 10 with 2 years’ experience. A Psira grade C certificate. Must be Psira registered. Knowledge of the firearms control act. Control of access to the Public premises and vehicles act. Psira Act, trespass Act, knowledge dealing with the Public. Ability to handle confidential information, sound verbal and written communication skills. Good telephone etiquette and interpersonal skills. Ability to organize and plan must be prepared to rotate shifts which include weekends and public holidays. Should not have a criminal record. Knowledge and application of the Batho Pele Principles, six (6) key ministerial priorities, patients’ rights charter, and other key ministerial priorities impacting on service delivery.
Duties: Protect state property, employees, visitors, and patients in the hospital for 24 hours. Access control and searching of both vehicles and pedestrians. Report of security breached. Operate and maintain security equipment. Write statements and testify in court. Switch on and off lights in your area of responsibility. Write and submit a report to the supervisor as soon as possible. Assist with the restraining of patients. Conduct hourly patrols clamping of incorrectly parked vehicles, provide directions to patients and visitors. Comply with the rotation roaster. Be willing to undergo continuous training and development system (contracting, quarterly reviews, and final assessment).
