Econo Foods is looking for an experienced Delivery Driver to join its logistics operation in Edenvale, Johannesburg East Rand.

The position involves transporting and delivering goods safely and on time while ensuring the assigned vehicle remains roadworthy and all delivery documentation is accurately maintained.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Applicants must have:

• Grade 12 / Matric or equivalent qualification
• 3–5 years of relevant driving experience
• Valid Code 14 (EC) driver’s licence
• Valid PDP
• Good written and verbal English communication skills
• Strong attention to detail
• Good time-management and navigation skills
• Customer-service skills
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment

Previous experience within the FMCG retail industry is preferred.

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

The successful candidate will:

• Safely operate the assigned delivery truck.
• Conduct vehicle checks to ensure roadworthiness.
• Deliver goods accurately and on time.
• Maintain accurate mileage and fuel-consumption records.
• Keep delivery receipts and other required documentation.
• Record and report accidents or incidents.
• Communicate professionally with customers and warehouse staff.
• Report mechanical problems and maintenance requirements.
• Follow vehicle maintenance and repair procedures.
• Comply with traffic laws and company safety requirements.
• Keep the assigned truck clean and organised.
• Ensure required delivery documents are readily available.
• Use appropriate PPE when performing duties.
• Maintain safe working practices.
• Provide professional customer service.
• Attend required meetings, coaching and training.
• Support the team in achieving operational targets.
