Econo Foods is looking for a Delivery Assistant to join its logistics team in Edenvale, Johannesburg East Rand.

This opportunity is suitable for candidates with Grade 12 and at least 2 years of experience in a warehousing or logistics environment.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Applicants must have:

• Grade 12 / Matric or equivalent qualification
• At least 2 years’ experience in a warehousing or logistics environment
• Good written and verbal English communication skills
• Strong attention to detail
• Good time-management skills
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Good interpersonal and customer-service skills

Previous experience within the FMCG retail industry will be an advantage.

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

The successful candidate will:

• Assist the driver with customer deliveries.
• Help ensure products are delivered accurately and on time.
• Load and unload products from the delivery vehicle.
• Present Proof of Delivery (POD) documents to customers.
• Obtain customer signatures confirming receipt of deliveries.
• Maintain accurate delivery records.
• Assist with invoice correction forms when required.
• Assist with verifying customer payments where applicable.
• Help the driver navigate delivery routes.
• Assist with inventory and stock records.
• Record returned or damaged products.
• Report stock discrepancies.
• Keep the vehicle cab clean.
• Safeguard stock during deliveries and overnight routes.
• Maintain organised PODs, invoices, receipts and other delivery paperwork.
• Follow safe product-handling procedures.
• Wear appropriate PPE and comply with safety requirements.
• Provide professional and courteous customer service.
• Support the delivery team in achieving operational goals.
