SANPARKS ROOM ATTENDANT VACANCY – GRADE 12 REQUIRED

South African National Parks (SANParks) is inviting applications for a Room Attendant fixed-term contract opportunity at Addo Elephant National Park – Matyholweni Section.

This opportunity is suitable for candidates with Grade 12 and 1–2 years of cleaning, tourism or hospitality experience.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Applicants should have:

• Grade 12 / Matric, NCV Level 4 or equivalent
• 1–2 years’ practical experience in public cleaning, tourism or hospitality
• Customer-service skills
• Health and safety awareness
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Good interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Good time-management and organisational skills
• Ability to follow instructions and OHS procedures
• Reliability, punctuality and trustworthiness
• Willingness to work shifts, weekends and public holidays

A Public Cleaning certificate or learnership, hotel-cleaning experience and knowledge of First Aid will be advantageous.

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

The successful candidate will:

• Clean chalets and surrounding areas.
• Change bed linen.
• Sweep and mop floors.
• Polish furniture.
• Empty waste containers.
• Clean public areas.
• Report abnormalities to the supervisor.
• Monitor inventory items in chalets.
• Ensure required inventory quantities are available.
• Report maintenance faults.
• Assist with laundry duties when required.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness and customer service.
• Respond professionally to guests’ needs.
• Manage customer expectations.
• Organise and prioritise daily duties.
• Complete assigned work within required timeframes.
• Follow workplace health and safety procedures.

IMPORTANT

The successful candidate must provide their own accommodation, as official accommodation is not available inside the park.

The remuneration package includes a basic salary aligned with Paterson Grade A3.
