MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Applicants must have:

• Grade 12 / Matric
• Valid car driver’s licence
• Valid motorbike licence
• Willingness and ability to work retail hours and/or shifts
• Strong command of English
• Good time-management skills
• Professional and presentable appearance
• Honest and trustworthy character
• Ability to communicate effectively with customers and staff

Previous experience in a similar driving or delivery position will be an advantage.

SPECIAL CONDITIONS

Candidates must:

• Be willing to work outdoors in different weather conditions.
• Be physically fit and able to lift and move heavy boxes.
• Have reliable transport and/or live close to the store.
• Be a South African citizen.
• Have clear credit and criminal records.
• Follow all relevant road traffic and health and safety requirements.

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

The successful candidate will:

• Deliver products safely and on time.
• Ensure the correct orders reach the correct customers.
• Prioritise refrigerated deliveries and use appropriate cooler boxes and cold packs.
• Select efficient delivery routes.
• Follow delivery and collection instructions.
• Handle fragile products with appropriate care.
• Complete store returns, collections and inter-branch deliveries.
• Ensure delivery paperwork is correctly signed.
• Maintain accurate delivery records and invoices.
• Complete and maintain the vehicle logbook.
• Process applicable EFT and cash payments.
• Keep the delivery vehicle clean.
• Inspect the vehicle before, during and after trips.
• Report vehicle defects, accidents and incidents.
• Follow the company’s vehicle policies.
• Comply with road traffic laws.
• Provide professional and courteous customer service.
• Report customer complaints, requests and compliments to management.
