MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Applicants must have:

Grade 12 / Matric
Valid car driver’s licence
Valid motorbike licence
Willingness and ability to work retail hours and/or shifts
Strong command of English
Good time-management skills
Professional and presentable appearance
Honest and trustworthy character
Ability to communicate effectively with customers and staff

Previous experience in a similar driving or delivery position will be an advantage.

SPECIAL CONDITIONS

Candidates must:

Be willing to work outdoors in different weather conditions.
Be physically fit and able to lift and move heavy boxes.
Have reliable transport and/or live close to the store.
Be a South African citizen.
Have clear credit and criminal records.
Follow all relevant road traffic and health and safety requirements.

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

The successful candidate will:

Deliver products safely and on time.
Ensure the correct orders reach the correct customers.
Prioritise refrigerated deliveries and use appropriate cooler boxes and cold packs.
Select efficient delivery routes.
Follow delivery and collection instructions.
Handle fragile products with appropriate care.
Complete store returns, collections and inter-branch deliveries.
Ensure delivery paperwork is correctly signed.
Maintain accurate delivery records and invoices.
Complete and maintain the vehicle logbook.
Process applicable EFT and cash payments.
Keep the delivery vehicle clean.
Inspect the vehicle before, during and after trips.
Report vehicle defects, accidents and incidents.
Follow the company’s vehicle policies.
Comply with road traffic laws.
Provide professional and courteous customer service.
Report customer complaints, requests and compliments to management.
