Dis-Chem Pharmacies Limited is looking for a Cleaner to join its Head Office team in Midrand, Gauteng.

This is a permanent, entry-level opportunity for a candidate with Grade 12 / Matric who can maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Applicants must have:

• Grade 12 / Matric
• Ability to communicate in English
• Cleaning skills
• Good customer-service skills
• Good communication skills
• Strong attention to detail
• Good time-management skills
• Ability to follow instructions
• Trustworthy and honest approach to work
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines

The position also lists:

• South African status
• Clear criminal and credit checks (MIE)
• Driver’s licence and own reliable transport

Speaking a second additional language will be advantageous.

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

The successful candidate will:

• Maintain a high standard of cleanliness throughout the Head Office.
• Clean communal areas daily.
• Keep the canteen and restrooms clean and properly stocked.
• Clean areas when required throughout operational hours.
• Vacuum meeting and training rooms.
• Vacuum other carpeted areas according to schedule.
• Dust desks, chairs, telephones, shelves and photocopiers.
• Clean offices and meeting rooms.
• Safely dispose of refuse.
• Follow workplace health and safety procedures.
• Use wet-floor signs when cleaning floors.
• Safely store cleaning equipment when not in use.
• Assist customers and visitors when required.
• Communicate professionally with staff and guests.
• Monitor kitchen and bathroom supplies.
• Report low or out-of-stock supplies to the team leader.
• Report damaged or malfunctioning equipment, lights, taps, doors, locks and other facilities.
