Western TVET College is inviting applications for 3 permanent Driver/Messenger positions at its Corporate Office, Carletonville and Randfontein sites.

These are permanent PERSAL appointments offering a salary of R201 093 per annum plus benefits.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Applicants must have:

• Grade 12 / Matric or equivalent qualification
• Valid Code 10 driver’s licence
• Valid Professional Driving Permit (PDP)
• At least 1–2 years of relevant driving experience
• Excellent driving skills
• Basic knowledge of relevant legislation, policies and procedures
• Knowledge of basic vehicle maintenance
• Ability to complete vehicle logbooks and related records
• Ability to change a flat tyre
• Ability to keep vehicles clean and maintained
• Willingness to work after hours and weekends

Successful candidates may be required to provide services across all Western TVET College campuses/sites.

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

The successful candidates will:

• Drive light and medium-sized vehicles.
• Transport staff and students safely.
• Deliver mail, documents and other items.
• Perform routine checks and basic maintenance on allocated vehicles.
• Report vehicle defects promptly.
• Complete vehicle logbooks and other required records.
• Record kilometres travelled and fuel usage.
• Obtain required trip authorisations.
• Keep allocated vehicles clean.
• Provide messenger services.
• Collect and deliver documents.
• Assist with registry duties.
• Copy and fax documents.
• Provide general clerical support when required.
