MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Applicants must have:

• Grade 12 / Matric
• At least 6 months’ cashier or till operation experience
• Basic computer literacy, including MS Office
• Good numerical skills
• Strong command of English
• Basic customer-service skills
• Ability to work retail hours
• South African citizenship
• Clear criminal and credit records
• Reliable transport or residence close to the store

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The successful candidates will:

• Operate the till and process customer transactions
• Receive cash, card, voucher and other approved payments
• Provide professional and friendly customer service
• Process refunds and exchanges when authorised
• Assist customers with merchandise queries
• Promote current sales and promotions
• Process loyalty cards and rewards
• Handle cash securely and accurately
• Maintain accurate cash-flow procedures
• Report customer complaints and compliments
• Identify and report suspicious activity
• Follow Dis-Chem’s security policies and procedures
