MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Applicants must have:

• NQF Level 1 or relevant equivalent qualification
• Basic knowledge of planting
• Knowledge of firefighting
• Good communication skills
• Planning skills
• Good interpersonal skills
• Good listening skills
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team
• Reliability and self-discipline
• Ability to accept responsibility

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Successful candidates will:

• Perform silviculture duties within plantations and forests.
• Assist with the marking of plots.
• Count and mark trees.
• Maintain and update relevant work registers.
• Assist with fighting forest and veld fires.
• Perform prescribed burning duties when required.
• Provide harvesting support services.
• Monitor propagation activities.
• Assist with producing and processing poles.
• Cut poles as required.
• Assist with drying and sampling poles.
• Perform other related forestry duties.
