Purpose of the Role

The Delivery Driver will be responsible for the safe transportation and timely delivery of goods, conducting vehicle inspections, maintaining accurate records, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and providing excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely operate and drive the assigned delivery truck
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
• Ensure goods are delivered accurately and on time
• Maintain accurate records of mileage, fuel usage, deliveries, incidents, and accidents
• Verify delivery documentation and obtain customer receipts where required
• Maintain professional communication with customers and colleagues
• Report vehicle defects and maintenance requirements promptly
• Follow all company policies and road traffic regulations
• Keep the vehicle clean, organized, and properly equipped
• Use appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
• Support a safe working environment and comply with safety standards
• Attend team meetings, coaching sessions, and training programmes
• Assist the team in achieving operational goals

Minimum Requirements

• Grade 12 (Matric) certificate or equivalent qualification
• 3–5 years of driving experience
• Experience within the FMCG retail industry will be advantageous
• Valid Code 10 or Code 14 driver’s licence
• Valid Professional Driving Permit (PDP)
