PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

The General Worker will perform manual production activities to help the operation meet its daily targets while maintaining required quality, safety, GMP and food-safety standards.

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

The successful candidate will:

• Prepare packaging materials and equipment before production starts.
• Ensure tape guns, tape, pallets, wrapping and other required materials are ready.
• Perform day-to-day production duties.
• Carry out manual production activities safely and efficiently.
• Pack the correct quantities of products into boxes.
• Ensure boxes are properly sealed.
• Pack products correctly onto pallets.
• Check date codes for correctness and clarity.
• Continuously check product and packaging quality.
• Assist with monitoring packing machinery when required.
• Stop the machine or production line if problems occur when the operator is unavailable.
• Report product-quality defects and production problems.
• Report safety risks and incidents.
• Report line stoppages and other operational issues.
• Collect and manage waste in and around the production facility.
• Maintain a clean, safe and orderly workstation.
• Follow food-safety and quality requirements.
• Follow site procedures and policies.
• Maintain good housekeeping, including GMP and 5S standards.
• Assist with recording production losses when required.
• Support safe start-ups, shutdowns and changeovers.
• Report attendance-related issues to the relevant supervisor or manager.
