FOOD LOVERS MARKET: CASHIER VACANCY – PERMANENT FULL-TIME JOB

A Cashier is required for a permanent, full-time position in Waterkloof Ridge, Gauteng.

The position is suitable for someone with Matric and previous cashier experience who can provide excellent customer service and accurately process customer transactions.

JOB DETAILS

Working Hours: 8 hours per day

Reports To: Till Supervisor

Candidates must be prepared to work different shifts during trading and non-trading hours, including Sundays and public holidays.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Applicants must have:

• Matric / Grade 12
• Previous cashier experience
• Experience using a cash register or POS system
• Ability to accurately handle customer payments
• Good basic numeracy skills
• Strong attention to detail
• Good communication skills
• Good time-management skills
• Customer-service skills
• Clear criminal record
• Must live within 25 km of the job location

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

The successful candidate will:

• Operate an electronic point-of-sale system.
• Scan and process customer purchases accurately.
• Ensure customers receive the correct change.
• Handle different payment methods.
• Complete accurate and balanced cash-ups.
• Maintain a clean and hygienic till area.
• Provide friendly and professional customer service.
• Maintain good knowledge of products and product codes.
• Keep up to date with promotions and advertisements.
• Communicate effectively with customers and colleagues.
• Work efficiently during busy trading periods.
• Help ensure customers have a positive checkout experience.

Candidates should also be prepared to answer application questions about:

• Availability to work 6 shifts per week

• Prioritising tasks during busy periods
