Broll Property Group is looking for a Handyman to join its team in Johannesburg, Gauteng on a permanent basis.

This position is suitable for an experienced maintenance worker with at least Grade 10 and practical knowledge of building maintenance and repairs.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Applicants should have:

• Grade 10 / Standard Eight
• At least 2 years of related maintenance experience
• Additional training in maintenance and repair procedures
• Basic knowledge of maintenance functions
• Knowledge of workplace safety procedures
• Ability to read and follow blueprints
• Ability to work independently
• Good attention to detail
• Good hand-eye coordination

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

The successful candidate will:

• Perform general building maintenance and repairs.
• Carry out preventative maintenance.
• Inspect buildings and identify maintenance problems.
• Respond to maintenance requests from tenants and management.
• Check doors, windows, lights and other building fittings.
• Inspect toilets, taps, basins and related facilities.
• Check equipment such as air-conditioning systems, pumps and water tanks.
• Assist with inspections of fire and emergency equipment.
• Identify electrical or maintenance problems and report serious faults.
• Perform repairs where possible.
• Inspect equipment and record repair requirements.
• Follow workplace health and safety procedures.
• Assist with tenant installations and quality-control inspections.
• Assist tenants when moving into premises.
• Help with the removal or relocation of partitioning when required.
• Maintain good communication with tenants.
• Complete maintenance work orders and keep accurate records.
• Keep equipment maintenance records up to date.
• Assist other departments with maintenance requirements.
• Keep work areas and grounds clean, secure and well maintained.
• Complete additional maintenance projects when assigned.
