JOB DESCRIPTION

Dis-Chem Pharmacies is continuously building a talent pool for Casual Cashiers at its Greenvalley store. The purpose of this role is to provide excellent customer service at the point of sale while ensuring accurate processing of customer transactions in line with company policies and standard operating procedures.

REQUIREMENTS

• Grade 12 / Matric.
• Minimum of 6 months’ cashier or till operations experience.
• Computer literate (MS Office).
• Sound numerical skills.
• Strong command of the English language.
• Basic customer service skills.
• Willing and able to work retail hours.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Deliver excellent customer service in accordance with Dis-Chem standards.
• Build professional relationships with customers.
• Report customer complaints and compliments to management.
• Meet customer turnover targets.
• Stay informed about current promotions and sales.
• Ensure the safety of customers and colleagues.
• Follow Dis-Chem’s 5-Star Communication Principles.
• Manage cash flow responsibly.
• Ensure all line voids and price changes are authorised.
• Process exchanges and authorised returns.
• Receive and process all payment methods accepted by Dis-Chem.
• Process loyalty cards and rewards programmes.
• Ensure cash is secured according to company procedures.
• Protect your cashier code and password.
• Ensure all stock leaving the store has been scanned and paid for.
• Keep cash secure at all times.
• Handle daily takings confidentially.
• Report suspicious behaviour immediately.
• Assist customers with product-related queries.
• Comply with all Dis-Chem security policies and procedures.
