DRIVER – PROVISIONING AND LOGISTICS (CAPE TOWN)

Requirements
- Grade 10 or equivalent qualification recognised by SAQA.
- Valid Driver’s Licence.
- Valid Professional Driving Permit (PDP).
Knowledge, Competencies and Skills:
- Knowledge of procedures for operating motor vehicles.
- Knowledge of prescripts for the correct utilisation of government vehicles.
- Knowledge of vehicle maintenance procedures.
- Knowledge of messenger services and routine office support functions.
- Knowledge of registry services and photocopying procedures.
- Knowledge of the city and district where duties will be performed.
Duties
- Perform general messenger and delivery services.
- Sort and arrange correspondence in the registry.
- Collect submissions and other documents from assigned offices.
- Provide driver services by operating light and medium motor vehicles to transport passengers.
- Perform routine maintenance checks on allocated vehicles.
- Sort and deliver mail, files, documents and parcels.
- Ensure collected items are properly sealed and addressed.
- Deliver submissions between offices.
- Ensure recipients sign the delivery register/book upon receipt.
- Record contents and physical addresses in delivery registers.
- Perform general office assistant duties.
- Make copies, fax and shred documents.
- Provide auxiliary administrative support when required.
- Support office security functions.
- Assist with registry-related activities.
- Assist with operator-related activities.
