Job Description
The Room Attendants at La Residence play a crucial role in the daily operations of La Residence, ensuring every guest room, Vineyard Suite, and Franschhoek House space is maintained to the highest 5-star standard. With each room uniquely designed and filled with carefully sourced décor, glassware, crockery, and details, the Room Attendant is responsible for presenting these spaces flawlessly and with great attention to detail. This is to ensure that we live up to The Royal Portfolio’s purpose, which is “to give our guests a complete experience and a perfect stay”.
MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Ensure every guest room, suite, and house is immaculately clean, beautifully presented, and refreshed to create a 5-star experience.
Work as part of the Housekeeping team, supporting colleagues and communicating effectively with Supervisors and other departments.
Suggest simple, practical ideas to improve room presentation or housekeeping routines.
Care for hotel items, furnishings, and décor to avoid damage and unnecessary replacement costs
Handle all unique room items such as glassware, crockery, artwork, and décor with the highest care to preserve their condition
Use cleaning materials, water, and electricity responsibly while ensuring standards are never compromised.
Clean and prepare all new arrival rooms, Vineyard Suites, and Franschhoek House rooms to 5-star standards, ensuring everything is immaculate before guest check-in.
Refresh occupied rooms while guests are at breakfast or out for the day, maintaining cleanliness and neat presentation.
Provide elegant turndown service in the evenings, ensuring rooms are neat, comfortable, and welcoming for guests.
Assist in keeping corridors, public areas at the hotel, terrace room, and Franschhoek house, housekeeping stations, and back-of-house areas clean and organised.
Report any maintenance issues, damages, or missing items promptly to Supervisors to ensure swift resolution VIA THE WHATSAPP GROUP.
REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS
Matric certificate
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, in English
Strong attention to detail for immaculate room presentation.
Organisational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
Physical stamina to perform daily housekeeping duties.
Basic communication skills to coordinate with colleagues and Supervisors.
Reliability and responsibility to complete tasks on time and to the required standards.
Pride in maintaining a luxury environment.
Respectful handling of unique and valuable items in rooms.
Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
Team player with a supportive approach.
Calm and efficient, even during busy service times.
It is important that the candidate is able to work as part of a team and is a good cultural fit for The Royal Portfolio. South African citizenship is advantageous.
A valid work permit is essential if you are not in possession of a South African ID document.
