Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 (Matric)
- External driver certification
- Valid Code 14 (EC) driver’s licence with PDP
- Minimum 3 years’ experience operating a concrete mixer truck
- Ability to read, write and calculate
- Knowledge of road transport legislation
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Physically fit and medically fit
- Good eyesight, hearing and speech ability
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct daily vehicle and mixer inspections before commencing work
- Report defects and mechanical issues to the supervisor
- Ensure the truck is cleaned, greased and properly maintained
- Manage tyre condition and safety checks
- Transport concrete safely to construction sites
- Plan and follow delivery routes efficiently
- Operate the mixer and offload concrete at designated sites
- Comply with all traffic laws and company safety procedures
- Ensure deliveries are completed according to schedule
Required Driving Experience
- Experience driving:
- Mercedes-Benz mixer trucks
- FAW mixer trucks
- FUSO mixer trucks
- Ability to operate:
- Manual gearbox
- Auto-semi automatic gearbox
- Split gearbox systems
Working Conditions
- Outdoor construction environments
- Exposure to varying weather conditions
- Physical work involving vehicle inspections and concrete deliveries
