Starke Ayres is the foremost African specialist and global supplier of premium vegetable, flower, and lawn seed varieties – both for commercial and home garden planting. The following position has become available for a General Worker Cleaner, based in Oudtshoorn.

The purpose of the job is to assist with all general duties within the Production offices and Parent seed cleaning facility.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Scrubbing and cleaning

Ensure to sweep and mop the Production offices and Parent seed Factory as per the daily schedule.
Ensure that Offices, ablution blocks, Factory, and canteen areas are kept clean as per the cleaning schedule
Checking of housekeeping stock

Keep a stock of all cleaning materials and report timeously before running out of stock

Ensure that matters that impact the department’s performance are dealt with appropriately.

Occupational Health and Safety

Do any other reasonable task allocated by Manager / Superiors as and when requested.
Adhere to all requirements relating to the Occupational Health and Safety Act and to report any deviations to the Supervisor / Manager in co-operation with the Safety Representative.
Ensure that housekeeping standards are complied with at all workstations.
General

Assists fellow workers with the execution of tasks whenever their own responsibilities have been executed and completed.
Ensures that work area/s are neat, tidy, organised, and clean at all times.
Assists with and adheres to security measures to ensure the safety of products, assets, and facility.
Acts responsibly and professionally at all times, fostering goodwill and a positive image for the Company.

Grade 12 (essential)
1 Year Cleaning experience
Accuracy
Attention to detail
Making of Tea/Coffee
Cleanliness
Able to move tables/cupboards to clean
